Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Drop-off and Pick-up Hours?
Monday-Friday: 7:00-9:00 A.M. or 4:00-5:30 P.M.
Saturday: 8:00-10:00 A.M.
Sunday: 3:00-4:30 P.M.
Do You Offer After-Hours Pick-up or Drop-off
Options?
We ask that you kindly honor our posted times.
We understand that occasionally emergencies pop up
in life. When that happens, we do our best to
accommodate your after-hour requests. We WILL
charge you an extra day fee for each time this occurs.
What Are Your Holiday Hours?
We always take care of your pets as usual on all
holidays, but we often don’t allow drop-offs or pick-
ups on the major holidays, especially Christmas.
Will You Administer Medication to my Pet?
Yes, we will administer medication to your pet.
We charge $2 per dose given. We DO ask that you
provide clear, written instructions to ensure proper
administration.
Note: We cannot accommodate late night medication
administration. Once or twice a day administration
works great during our posted hours.
What About Special Diets?
Accommodating special diets is no problem! We
can refrigerate food and treats. It is helpful to have
special instructions written or typed out to ensure
proper administration.
Will My Pet Interact with Other Dogs or Cats?
As a general rule, we do not mix the dogs or cats
staying with us. We have learned that pets act
differently when they are away from home, and we do
NOT want your pet to be injured or to be put in a
stressful situation. If pets have interacted with each
other prior to staying at Midwest Dog Boarding, AND
both owners have specifically requested joint play
time, we will accommodate.
How Many Times a Day Will my Dog Play Outside?
Your pet will be able to romp and play 4 times
each day. In the morning, each dog or family group
gets a quick turn outside while we replenish food and
water. After every dog has had a chance to be let out,
we go through and let out each dog/group of dogs for
a second, longer turn. During this turn, we give one-
on-one attention petting, playing, running, walking,
and loving on each and every dog. This gives us the
ability to keep an eye on how each dog is acclimating
to the new environment. We LOVE figuring out each
dog’s personality and gearing our interaction time to
fit his/her needs. Quiet time happens over the noon
hour, and then we do the same schedule in the
afternoon.
If you feel your pet needs more individualized
attention, you are welcome to purchase one-on-one
playtime. ($10 for 15 minutes)
What About Injuries or Accidents?
We take every precaution to keep your pet safe.
However, animals can be unpredictable and accidents
could happen. In that event, you will be notified
immediately. If we can’t get a hold of you, we’ll call
your veterinarian.
What if I Need to Cancel Boarding?
No problem. We do not charge a fee to cancel,
but we DO ask that you call to let us know about your
change in plans.
Can I Request a Tour?
Absolutely! Give us a call to schedule a tour during
our regular business hours.
What are the Vaccination Requirements?
Dogs: (including puppies four months and older):
Rabies, DHPP, and Bordatella.
Cats: Rabies, FELV, and FVRCP
Please email vaccination records to
mwdogboarding@gmail.com. (Your vet clinic should
be able to send vaccination records to us as well.) If
you prefer to bring a printed version, you are
welcome to do so.
It is VERY important to have your vaccinations current.
We want your pet to be protected while they stay with
us, but this is YOUR responsibility. All new
vaccinations should be given a minimum of one week
prior to your boarding reservation.
What Should I Bring for Personal Items?
The only thing you need to bring from home for your
dog or cat is food. We have plenty of food dishes,
water bowls, chew toys and blankets available for
your pet to use during their stay with us.
However, you are welcome to bring comfort items
from home such as beds, blankets and/or toys that
you think might help your pet feel more at home.
Do I Bring Food?
Yes! Please provide your pet’s food for their stay
at Midwest Dog Boarding. We do NOT keep food on
hand. It is vital that your pet remains on the food they
enjoy and ensures that their tummy will not need to
adjust to a new diet. Please be sure to mark the
container/bag with your pet’s name and feeding
instructions.
Do You Offer Discounts?
Yes! Our extended-stay pets receive one day free
for every 7 days they stay with us.
For example: 7 days = 1 day free, 14 days= 2
days free, 21 days = 3 days free
Refer a friend to receive one free day! When you refer
a friend, have them mention your name and we will
give you 1 free day the next time you board your pet
with us.
